Mike Fogarty is an accomplished, forward-thinking executive who has acquired over thirty years of commercial experience and demonstrated a comprehensive understanding of strategy, operations, and commercialization. He has successfully established start-up businesses from scratch and assisted accelerating expansion, growth, and profitability. Having worked globally has enabled Mike to develop a wide network of key stakeholders and a breadth of cultural awareness. Throughout his career, Mike has effectively navigated teams during uncertainty by identifying opportunities to up or cross-skill teams while pursuing other markets to maintain business continuity. Mike is a visionary entrepreneurial leader who enjoys challenging boundaries and thinking outside the box.
Mike is the founder and CEO of Allied Genesis Limited (AGL), established in 2010 to take advantage of Power & Energy Consultancy and Project Development opportunities in IPP, Hybrids, Renewable and Alternative Energy in the greater Asian region.
Mike’s passion for the Power and Energy sector emerged early in his career resulting in Mike dedicating the past thirty five years into developing and imparting his acquired skills, capability, experience and knowledge of small to medium scale conventional Power Plant Design, Development, Operations and Commercial Management.
Mike holds Diploma in Trade Studies & Practice (Mechanical), Business Management and Front Line Management, developing a long and distinguished career spanning thirty five years in resource sector Power Generation in Australia, Papua New Guinea, IPP and Power Product Sales and Marketing in Asia.
Mike has been a permanent resident in Asia for twenty five years, focusing exclusively on Power Sector development in Cambodia (VP. Operations, Jupiter Power in Cambodia, IPP) and Vietnam (MD, Eclipse Energy Ltd., an IPP established to provide project development support to a Cambodian Investor in a 30MW HFO Power Plant in Phnom Penh, culminating in a signed PPA in April of 2002.
In 2010 Mike, through AGL, was commissioned by the authorised Caterpillar Dealer for Vietnam to define, develop and implement Strategic Market Development initiatives to build Caterpillar’ Vietnam market share and expertise for the Power Systems BU at Phu Thai Cat, which resulted in the Dealer Power Systems sales growing from #6 in the market in 2010 to #1 in the Market in three years later and by 2016, commanding 60% share of the Vietnam EPG Market.
On November 30, 2018 Allied Genesis resigned its commission with Phu Thai CAT to dedicate and focus on the emerging Conventional, Renewable and Alternative Energy opportunities in Cambodia, Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, Myanmar and Vietnam.
David Pinkman, Director
David E.T. Pinkman is an independent Canadian businessman with extensive experience in developing and managing project-based corporations with international activities. He was the Interim Chief Executive Officer of Synstream Energy Corp., a midstream gas-to-liquids supplier based in Calgary, Alberta,, from August 21, 2017 until December 29, 2017 and was the Chief Financial Officer of Synstream Energy Corp. from May 2007 until January 6, 2018. He remains a director of that company and has served as such since May 2007. He is the Chief Financial Officer, Company Secretary and director of International SoftRock Oil Company Limited, an international oil and gas explration company, and has been so since February 2015. He has been a director of Builders Capital Mortgage Corp. since March 28, 2013. Mr. Pinkman served as Vice President and Corporate Secretary at Red Rock Energy Inc. from May 2005 until June 17, 2017 and also served as its Interim Chief Financial Officer from March 10, 2016 to July 29, 2016.
From 1995 until 2001, Mr. Pinkman was an officer and director of Jupiter Power International Inc., a Canadian corporation which carried on business in Cambodia as an independent power production company. Mr. Pinkman was a central participant in the initiating, development and building of Jupiter Power as a significant participant in the modernization of that country, and as a result has significant exposure to the business and regulatory factors that must be addressed while operating in that jurisdiction. He was also a director of Renewable Power PLC, an AIM-listed company based in London, UK, which built and operated natural gas power plants in New Jersey, USA.
Mr. Pinkman holds an LLB from the University of British Columbia (1984) and a BA in English from the University of Calgary (1980) and was Partner at the law firm Pinkman, McArdle, Barristers and Solicitors from June 1990 to March 2001. He was called to the bar in 1985, and as a lawyer he has practiced primarily in the areas of corporate and securities law.
He serves as an executive and director of Wild Rose Motocross Association, a non-profit society operating in Calgary, AB, and has done so continuously since 1987. Mr. Pinkman has served on the boards of a number of public and private companies carrying on business in the resource and other industries.
Steve Szymanski, Senior Advisor - Energy & Resources
Steve is a seasoned electric power executive with 38 years of experience. He has seen the electric power business from the perspectives of equipment supplier, EPC contractor, project developer, equity investor and lender fulfilling leading roles in projects won in 24 countries on 6 continents.
Steve’s experience is extensive, ranging from project development, financing, project financing, and equity investment for projects in a number of developing countries. With Caterpillar Power Ventures acting as an IPP of small diesel and gas IPP developments, Steve worked on project sites in India (3 project sites, 20-28MW), Cambodia (4 sites, 1-26MW), and Sri Lanka (100MW). With General Electric, Steve was on projects in Indonesia (500MW + 1000MW combined cycle), Nigeria (gas turbines), China (4 steam turbines), Uruguay (gas turbines), and India (combined cycle). Sumitomo had Steve as a Deputy Project Manager for a 1000MW combined cycle in Semarang, Indonesia, where he also lived for 2.5 years.
In Thailand, Philippines, Nigeria, Sri Lanka, Cambodia, India, Brazil, and other countries, Steve has project development or financing experience. In India, Steve was part of project financing and equity investment for three reciprocating genset sites (financed by Indian banks and corporate equity). In Cambodia, Steve helped secure the financing for 4 diesel generator sites (100% financed by equity), as well as served on the project board of directors. Sri Lanka’s 100MW site was a heavy fuel oil reciprocating genset site financed by Sri Lankan banks and corporate equity. Steve also sat on the project board of directors for the Sri Lankan project. In Thailand, Steve helped secure financing from Caterpillar Power Finance for the first non-recourse project of a small biogas fueled power plant for a palm oil mill. Globally, Steve has assisted Caterpillar Microgrids with negotiating and implementing a set of financing options for their renewable energy projects.
Steve has strong technical knowledge of gas turbines, combined cycle, coal fired steam turbines, diesel and gas reciprocating gensets, solar PV and energy storage systems. He is able to interpret the impact of various technologies on the viability and economics of a project and is trained to read electrical single-line diagrams and plant layouts. His skillsets extend further with financial modeling of many electric power projects for grid or captive generation, project structuring (including the harmonization of all project agreements), and is cultured - having been exposed to more than 55 different countries. One of Steve’s more impressive achievements was becoming the first non-Japanese person in the 350-year history of Sumitomo Corporation to be transferred to an assignment outside of his or her home country (part of his 2.5 year tenure in Indonesia).
Outside of work, Steve has several different joys including his time as a marathoner (17 completed marathons to date) and motorcycle touring. He has also been an active member of the community, participating as a member of the Caterpillar Singapore Corporate Social Innovation Committee from 2013-2015 and was Team Leader of Caterpillar’s Habitat for Humanity-Batam Build project team for the Indonesia home building project (2009, 2010, 2011, and 2013).

ArroWhere Equipment – an Award-Winning manufacturer of revolutionary safety apparel and gear utilizing patented/patent-pending designs and products focused on helping to make the user safer while cycling, running, walking, going to school, working in construction zones, and more. The product line was officially launched at Interbike 2014. In 2016, ArroWhere won a marketing grant with a local firm, based on the company’s unique selling point and opportunity to grow. In 2017, ArroWhere won an Interbike Innovations Award for its staple product – the ArroWhere Waterproof Jacket. ArroWhere was also granted a NSERC Engage government grant to work with the University of BC to further explore new ArroWhere designs and their effectiveness in the real world versus the industry standard construction vest. The company now sells product in Canada, the USA, Colombia, and Japan in over 150 unique retailers, and has interests from different parties in South America, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and more. ArroWhere holds a number of patents, trademarks, and industrial designs worldwide.

Khyle has a Major in Economics from the University of Calgary. His passion is car racing, where from 2009-2014, he and his partner ran their own racing team as both team owners and drivers. He holds several track records and finished second overall in-class the team’s only full-year of competitive racing.
